A picture of fruit and veggies coated in soapy water has sparked a heated debate in regards to the appropriate solution to put together plant meals for consumption.

A Redditor has shared a photograph of their grocery haul of their kitchen sink on the ‘Meals Hacks’ discussion board, together with the outline: “Anybody else do that? Makes certain your fruit & veg are clear.”

Within the picture we see mandarins, cucumbers, capsicum, onions and tomatoes coated in suds.

Commenters have been fast to share their opinions about this technique, with one suggesting simply washing with water is okay, one other suggesting vinegar will do the trick, and others questioning the necessity to wash fruit and veggies that will probably be peeled or cooked within the first place.
